Hello Snow Day Layout by Ree Peace

As the intro image says...Hello!
Ree here with another scrappy page =)

I have found a real love for creating with 8.5x11in, it just feels like less pressure I think...so after cutting my paper to size, I prepped my heavy cardstock with a generic gesso and let it dry before I went all crazy with the packaging technique.
Just look at those lovely beads of shimmer and shine from the
Colour Shimmer Sprays Steel and Deep Water.

I went for a two tone effect and darked up the Steel Colour Shimmer Spray with a tad of the Colour Spray Road Base, this gave a bit more body against the brightness of the Deep Water.
Time to add some of that delicious Colour Paste in the colour of Stormy Weather by pushing it through a stencil using a piece of card...

I added some more layers with a printed paper backing sheet for some strength, and some doodling with the use of my gesso lid and a fine liner.

Oh and have I been having fun again with embossing wood veneer?!?!? Umm YES!!!
I used some washi tape to mask off half of the veneer before getting it prepped with the VersaMark sticky pad and sprinkling with Deep Water Colour Embossing Powder. The mask also helped with the heat gun attack also, as I stuck it to a heat resistant surface (my kettle) as I heated to melting temp.
I did give this two layers as I missed a few spots close to the washi.

Then it was all about putting it together...I matted my photo with scraps of printed paper, there are some wisps of washi scatter all over for interest and some tiny words, stars, sequins, foam shapes, and wood veneer stars plus a flair for embellies.

This page gave me some much needed down time after a big working week, these products make it soooo easy to do and encourages the mojo to get shimmery and shiny.

I hope there is something here to inspire you on your next layout. Be sure to check out the store for the products and what else is available.
I am looking forward to replying to your comments and feedback =)

Stay safe!
Ree x
