Play by Fiona Hughes

Hi fellow Colour Blast Lovers, Fiona here again today to show you a layout I've created. The picture is my husband, Chris, in his watery element, Waterskiing @ Christmas time 2010.

I started with a 12 x 12 piece of watercolour
cardstock, (it ended up being quite a heavy layout so i trimmed the watercolour paper and mounted it on a piece of Navy coloured cardstock), I wet it down really well and then chose 4 of the beautiful shiny Colour Shimmer Dusts- Navy, Duke, Peacock & Lush,

and sprinkled them carefully over the page.... and watched the magic happen.... a little more water to help the movement.
I left this blue watery goodness to dry...

I wanted to create the appearance of droplets from the water being moved.... hmmmm.. I grabbed the Heavy White Gesso & some water, diluted the Gesso enough to be able to flick it  and splatter it all over the page, using a paintbrush, ( you will notice i had used some bead medium through a stencil for more texture).

I dried this with the heat tool.
The Title, chevrons and circle element are all chipboard, so i painted several coats of the diluted Gesso over them both and set them aside to dry.

After these were dry I coated them all with Glossy Accents to create an enamel look.

Finally to compile the layout.. I used some thick cardboard from an old box to bump up the photo, for some height. Added some tied twine too.

I was really happy with the final result, thanks for taking time out to have a look.

See you next time,
Cheers, Fi.
