Shine Bright/ Memories- by Fiona Hughes

Hi Everyone. I hope you're all staying warm  and managing to have some crafty time, in this cold weather!
Well, I'm here today to share this very grungy boy page, of my youngest child, Angus. He is so easy to scrap in this style, I must say!

I started with a piece of heavy gauge Kraft cardstock.
I then adhered strips of scrap patterned papers (you know, the strips we all cut off & throw out. Well i keep them, and use them like this, as well as scraps of old book pages that I've torn a bit), vertically over the upper half of the page, overlapping them a little.

Then using the Heavy White Gesso, I generously cover the strips and a little more.
You all know i am impatient, where drying naturally is concerned, so of course i dried the Gesso with my heat tool, Lol!

I then took my water spray, the  Colour Spray - Road Base & Colour Shimmer Spray - Dusty Charcoal, as my theme colours today.
I generously spritzed the gesso-ed area with water and then sprayed each of my chosen Colourblast sprays over the water. I encouraged the movement of the sprays with a watercolour paintbrush and some more water.  I then lifted the page and allowed the water and sprays to run down the page vertically.
Guess what......? I used the heat tool to speed drying time!!  Haha.

Looks cool Huh?!
After this i wanted to add some texture, right?! So i picked out a stencil and my favourite Colour Pastes- Dusty Charcoal & Steel

Being careful not to mix them, I worked them through the stencil over the coloured area of the page.

I used the Road Base ColourSpray  to flick some droplets randomly over the focus area.
Once this was totally dry, I put together my page using some other amazing Australian made embellies, and some washi tape.
I really hope you like the result.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at my page.
Have a great day peeps.

Cheers, Fi.
