Hello Colour Blast fans!
Lately, I have started so many pages with white or black cardstock. Today I wanted to do something different so I created a page with patterned paper to match my photo. Colour Blast can still work with patterned papers!
Here is a sneak peek of my page.
Here are the steps I took created this page:
I decided to use Washi tape to mask some stripes on my page. I put some Washi down behind the space I planned to place the photo.
Once the Washi tape was done, I painted some Colour Artist Inks (in Soot) between the washi to create stripes.
One dip of Colour Artist Ink was enough to paint between the Washi.
Then I peeled back the Washi tape to reveal the Ink stripes.
Next step was to add a layer of Colour Paste. I chose the super sparkly and shiny Snow White. I used the paste through a heart stencil as the next layer.
While my paste was drying, I started on my title. With a wood veneer title, I first painted a white coat of paint using White Heavy Gesso.
Next I embossed the title using Colour Embossing Powder in Steel.
Using my new Ranger embossing pen, I hand drew some stripes on the wood veneer title.
This created stripes on the title, using Colour Embossing Powder in Dusty Charcoal.
I decided to add more black and turquoise to my background, so I grabbed Colour Artist Inks (in Soot and Mermaid). I added splatters in these colors.
Then I got busy adding the photos and embellishments! Once I was finished I decided to add a few finishing touches.
Using the wand of a Colour Shimmer Spray in Steel, I splattered more colour to the page.
Lastly, I used my new Colour Shimmer Brush Marker, to add some sparkle to a black paper flower.
Here is my final page:
I love the mix of patterned paper and Colour Blast elements used to create the background!
