Hello and welcome. I don't do Vintage very often, but when I do I really enjoy it, so I should really do more. This layout is of my beautiful Mum. I originally did it for the Scrapbooking Memories Magazine Masters Challenge but the magazine company is no longer producing the magazine....so I now get to share it with you.
First up I tore up a few old pieces of pages from an old dictionary and adhered them to a 112x12 sepia sheet of patterned paper, I then dry brushed Heavy White Gesso over the top to give a texture vintage look.
To blend the dictionary paper in with the sepia coloured paper I brushed a light layer of Espresso Colour Mica Powder over the Heavy White Gesso whilst it was still slightly wet.
Next used the Heavy White Gesso again through a flower stencil over the top of the paper.
Once the Heavy White Gesso was completely dry I use the Colour Shimmer Cubes (or any water colour paints will work - with a touch of the Shimmer Brush over the top to give a layer of shimmer) to colour the flowers and the leaves.
While the Shimmer Cubes dried I used the two layers of Blush and Leather Colour Shimmer Spray over the chipboard, title "Cherish". Here I am using it on a chipboard heart. By using two layer I mean simply spraying a layer of Blush, letting it absorb in and then spraying small squirt of Leather over the top to give it a pinkish-brown look.
As I really wanted a heap of shimmer on my chipboard I used the clear Shimmer Brush Marker to give it a hit of shimmer. The Shimmer Brush Markers are so easy to use, simply paint on over the top of anything and it adds a huge hit of shimmer!!
From all of the above steps I created a wonderful feminine base to build my layout on, as you can after all the Colour Blast products I used all it needed were the photos, the journaling and some die-cuts to make it all come together.
Thanks for stopping in and I hope that you pop in tomorrow of another Design Team Member who will share her amazing creations with you to inspire you to use Colour Blast.
